


Mgahinga National Park
Mgahinga National Park is located in the South West of Uganda after the busy town of Kisoro. The Park is prominently known to offer amazing Gorilla Trekking Safaris and Golden Monkey tracking Safaris as well as unique Batwa Cultural Encounters. The Park is the smallest National covering an area of 33.7km2 with three Virunga Volcanoes i.e Mt. Muhavura (4,127 m), Mt. Gahinga (3,474 m), and Mt. Sabinyo (3,645 m).
The Park borders Volcanoes National Park Rwanda and Virunga National Park DR Congo in the West.
Mgahinga National Park has one Mountain Gorilla Family that can be trekked in the park and this is the Nyakagezi Gorilla Group that is trekked after being briefed on the conduct around the Mountain Gorillas.
After a period of 3- 5 hours in the forest, you meet the Gorillas and in an hour stay in their presence taking photos to keep.

Mgahinga National Park can be accessed by use of Road Transport as you transfer in a 4×4 wheel vehicle that transfers you from Kampala or the Entebbe International Airport to Mbarara then Kisoro Town and later to Maghinga National Park.
By Air
Mgahinga National Park can be accessed by use of Air Transport too as you board a domestic flight from the Entebbe International airport or the kajjansi Airfield to Kisoro Airfield where you are picked up by a driver guide to Maghinga National Park.
